Craig Hospital Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Referral Process

Traumatic Brain Injury Referral Process

To refer a patient with a brain injury to our inpatient or outpatient program, please call our admissions department at 303-789-8344 to start the process. Referrals can be made by patients, families, physicians, case managers, claims adjusters, hospital discharge planners, social workers, and others.

Simultaneous physician to physician referral to our CNS Medical Group at 303-789-8220 is required. Medical records will often be required, and the Admissions FAX number is 303-789-8699. Most of Craig inpatient referrals occur very soon following injury, and early referral is recommended.

In many referral situations there can be challenging issues regarding a family's ability to travel to do a tour, distance versus quality concerns, patient transportation costs for the transfer from acute care to rehabilitation, family and child care needs, and others. We want families to know that because we admit patients from almost every state in the U.S. each year, we understand and work with families on these challenges virtually every day. We invite you to call us so we can work with you and your particular circumstances and needs. With our non-profit status and our Craig Hospital Foundation, we have resources and flexibility to meet peoples' needs in areas that many other rehabilitation hospitals do not.
