Interactive Wellnes and Risk Assesment Introduction
Introduction
Health maintenance and promotion programs like wellness assessments, risk factor analysis, exercise, stress reduction, and smoking cessation have an obvious role in helping SCI survivors understand, diminish, and even prevent secondary conditions. Such programs are often recommended, and clearly needed. In attempting to respond to this need, Craig Hospital has developed a computerized comprehensive health assessment (the Wellness and Risk Assessment Profile, or "WRAP").
This instrument, in its current form, is an easy-to-complete questionnaire from which data are entered by a staff person, enabling a comprehensive, yet custom computerized report to be generated for the user. Recently, the WRAP has also been developed into a self-contained computer software program that can be loaded onto a freestanding personal or laptop computer. A user at a workstation at home, in a rehabilitation hospital, physicians office, or independent living center can then complete the questionnaire on the computer, and receive his or her wellness assessment and risk profile on-screen or have it printed immediately.
Craig Hospital has recently made its "WRAP" program available on its Web site for convenient use. Simply answer the questions on all forms provided, and click "View Report" for your personal Wellness and Risk Assessment.
For the WRAP program to work on the World-Wide Web, users must have "cookies" enabled in their browsers. All browsers enable cookies by default upon installation.
