Craig Hospital is an ideal environment to maximize your nursing career potential. Craig, unlike other rehabilitation facilities, is at the high acuity end of the rehabilitation spectrum. As a nurse at Craig you have an opportunity to blend rehabilitation with acute neuroscience knowledge and skills in your professional nursing practice.

The mission of Craig Hospital is to promote optimal health and quality of life for people affected by spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. We accomplish this mission by incorporating our core values into our work. These values are to:

Patient and family education is a center of focus for nursing practice at Craig. We look for those nurses who have the confidence to take on the medical challenges of the patients and the interpersonal skills to work closely with patients and families in preparation for discharge home.

The success of our patients and their families depends on teamwork. The close bond patients and families develop with the staff assists recovery and helps each patients achieve the goals he or she establishes in life. As a highly valued team member, you will actively participate in determining the most effective methods of rehabilitating your patients. Your experience and skills are acknowledged and respected, and your recommendations are incorporated into patient care decisions.

Our interdisciplinary team approach includes working closely with other professionals: physicians, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, patient and family service counselors, recreation therapists, dieticians, pharmacists, and others to set goals, develop the treatment plan, and monitor the progress of each catastrophically injured patient in a caring and compassionate environment.

Through a patient practice that integrates high acuity nursing, caring, competence, autonomy, and collaboration, you are able to move closer to obtaining your patient care goals while achieving your individual career expectations.
